SRC assists IFRC in channeling donations for immediate relief operations to Chile
2 March 2010 – Following the recent earthquake that hit Chile on Saturday morning 27 February, the Singapore Red Cross (SRC) is working closely with the International Federation of Red Cross Red Crescent (IFRC) to offer our assistance to the disaster hit country.
As a member of the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement, the SRC will be assisting by channeling any funds received from the people of Singapore to the IFRC for their immediate emergency relief effort. The money will contribute towards the overall relief effort by the IFRC who is spearheading the overall relief efforts.
Current Situation
• The IFRC is liaising with its sister national, Chilean Red Cross to assess and determine its immediate needs.
