Visit by Members from the Wakayama Chapter of the Japanese Red Cross
25 members from the Wakayama Chapter of the Japanese Red Cross visited Singapore Red Cross in the morning of 2nd September 2009.
Upon their arrival, our Secretary-General, Mr. Christopher Chua welcomed the visitors and greeted them with a light-hearted opening address. Following that, a general briefing on the Singapore Red Cross was conducted by the Head of International Services Division.
Topics such as the brief history of Singapore Red Cross, our organization structure, services and activities, to name a few, were presented in the briefing. It was heartening to observe that our array of fund-raising activities in particular, garnered the most interest from the visitors.
At the end of the briefing, the President of the Wakayama Chapter thanked our Secretary-General, Mr. Christopher Chua and the Singapore Red Cross on behalf of his delegation, for hosting their visit. A big round of applause then followed when souvenirs were being exchanged between him and Mr. Christopher Chua. Last but not least, there were smiles all round as group photos were taken before our visitors left.
The visit reflects the strong ties between the Singapore Red Cross and the Japanese Red Cross. We look forward in continuing our warm relations with our Japanese counterparts
