SRC invited to speak at radio station 938LIVE

On 28 February 2007, Stephen de Souza, a First Aid Instructor with the Singapore Red Cross Training Centre was invited by Stanley Leong and Mahesha Thenabadu, 938LIVE radio presenters to present on "First Aid at Home" for their monthly "The Living Room" lunchtime talks at the Library@Orchard.

Covering a broad spectrum of First Aid topics applicable to emergencies at home, Stephen captivated the audience for the hour talk by presenting basic safety tips such as how to treat wounds, cuts, burns, sprains and twists as well as how to attend to common baby and childhood injuries.

With his two assistants, Diana Phang and Anilia Sim, also from the Training Centre, Stephen gave a live demonstration on how to prevent a person from choking using the Heimlich Manoeuvre. Diana also gave tips and demonstrated how to administer CPR.
The session then culminated in a lively Question and Answer session.
